Kids party range

Hero party first colour test

This image had two job really first to test out the colours for the characters and second to provide some much needed colour to my yearbook photo, I have said this to the guys who made our year book, but id like to say that i feel they did an exellent job and rally did us proud, i am very happy with my page (apart from my reciding hairline). So a big thanks to them.

Hero Party

The Hero Party had its origins in the skate project, but the characters i created where to childish for the boards, they just didnt feel right. and i had a second project 'Bottoms up" which need the a theme and the the design work. But as i worked futher into the skate project i started to photoshop loads of products which my designs, i realised that the bottoms up brief was going to be very similer in its exicution, lots of products that could only really be photoshopped or crudely mocked up. i neede a paper based product range that i could apply my designs to and create in real life.

Zombie Skate

I changed the way i created the imagesw for the spreads, instead of drawing the characters and the related items on one sheet of paper i started to draw them as seperate assets to be put together in photoshop. this would save alot of time and effort when i came to adding the theme across the whole brand.

Skate Brief : Aliens

this is the second character family i came up with, really cheesey space aliens, like what dan dare used to encounter, like old packs of space raiders.

Skate Brief Hired Goons

For a long time during this project i was hoping to to laser cut a series of skate boards, with a surface pattern made up of differant sets of characters and the related objects for each character family.
the first set i craeted was the "hired goons". i love the idea of the goons, a joking representation of the lower levels of the underworld. I had just watched the movie "Bronson" at the time i came up with the idea, and working in the pub trade ive come across plenty of people who think they are gangsters, but could only really be described as 'goons'. So i had plenty of raw matrial in my head to create the hired goons.
